MASHstudios create some really unique, modern furniture - Clean. Simple. I like! They do residential, commercial (office + retail) - including glassware.
I think this is a lovely concept - and they are all very clean and cool looking. Zweed - in Stokholm.
I feel as though - or I should say I know - I have run across Madeline Weinrib's textiles and rugs before but I never knew her name or background or how extensive her collection was. She is the granddaughter of the founder of ABC Carpet & Home and she apparently was born with an inherent knack for design. Everything she does is so fresh and fun and unpretentious. I would like one of her rugs in my home. I need to make more money. :)
I think all architects are great furniture designers. It seems as though everyone I read or hear about branches off from their given discipline into dives into another with such fluidity. Design is design - no matter what the materials or scale. The chair above is designed by Italian Architect Antonio Citterio for B&B Italia's Maxalto brand. Love the simplicity. Love the lines.
I had to look this lamp up after walking past Haute Living on Kidzie the other day. They were on display and I wanted to pop in to find out more (more so to take a picture) but I didn't have the time or the gusto to walk into a design space and pull out my iPhone. The lamps are designed by an interior architect (naturally) by Secto Design out of Finland. I will own a couple of these in my lifetime. Love them - the pics don't even do them justice.
A friend of mine introduced me to BarberOsgerby - amazing and rigorous design work! This is the IRIS table made from machined aluminum. Each component is anodised individually to create a unique color spectrum. The colors on this table are very much me.
This elegant, pared down decor by the Swedish-American designer was based on her belief that, "modern furniture is a growth, progressing out of the needs of contemporary living. It's not a superimposed style, but an answer to our present conditions...It has developed out of our preferences for living in a modern way."
Stumbled upon this furniture site - like the simplicity of natural elements with a hint of glamour. lawson-fenning.
Netherlands-based designer Tineke Beunders has created a table that combines the world of adults and children. Whenever you’re feeling like a child and want to do something fun or just need to relax simply get the marbles into the grooves on the table. The grooves run through the whole table and the marbles will roll down the legs to the feet of the table where they will in a small box so you won’t have to chase the marbles all over the room.

This custom made slab table is 76" x 38" and is made with the contoured planks from lumber that has been on the ground for greater than five seasons. Very dry and stable lumber. There are multiple layers of "finishes" built up to provide a warm, natural and organic texture.
